Enjoyed mixing ‘Rory McIlroy: The Interview’ which was directed by Kevin Corcoran for RTÉ Sport.
Greg Allen interviewed the Northern Irishman following his hugely successful year in 2012.
The show was aired December 27th 2012 on RTÉ2.
The Mario Rosenstock show consists of a series of sketches caricaturing celebrities and Irish peculiarities.
The series is written by Ian Dempsey and Mario Rosenstock with Damian Farrell of Caboom as the series director.
Nice to be involved in this project and get involved in some comedic music production!
The Mario Rosenstock Show, Monday nights, RTÉ 2 at 9.30pm.
Following the success of both television series, I recently had the pleasure of working with the Hardy Bucks men once again on their new movie which is due for release in cinemas across Ireland and the UK in February 2013!
The movie features all the usual characters from the original series including Eddie, The Viper, Boo and French Toast as they set out on their adventure to Poland and the Ukraine for the Euro’s!
I’m right in the middle of audio post on Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012”, directed by Sarah Barrow and produced by Loosehorse.
Featuring 4 x 25min programmes and multiple VT inserts, the series takes a look at 24 of Ireland’s most successful companies and entrepreneurs in 2012. The eventual winner will be chosen by a panel of previous winners and awarded the prize live on ceremony night.
This is the second series of EOY that I have mixed and is currently on air on RTÉ 1 every Monday at 8.30pm.
Audio post production has just been completed on a new 4 x 25′ series called “Ar an Oileán” for Loosehorse.
The series was shot over a 12 month period, documenting island life on Inis Meáin (Aran Islands) and Cléire off the coast of Cork.
Fiachna Ó Braonáin of Irish rock band “The Hothouse Flowers” provided the voice over for the series.
“Ar an Oileán” is due for broadcast on RTÉ 1 in November.
I had fun this week working on Daughters of Rome for StormLight. The drama is set in 82AD, telling the tale of a troubled Roman officer’s struggle against his army and reputation to pursue his family to Ireland.
Daughters of Rome stars Shawn Sturnick and was written and directed by Donogh MacCarthy-Morrogh.
Watch out for it in film festivals throughout Ireland over the coming months!
Nice to be back working on The One Show for The BBC.
The popular series get approximately 5 million viewers every weeknight on BBC 1 from 7-8pm and consists of live studio panelists and guests. The show also includes a variety of TV inserts for which I am grateful to provide sound design and mixing.
Today, I was working on the “My Big Decision” segment which includes re-enactments and interviews about life-changing decisions people have made that have changed and saved lives.
Sports science documentary Faster, Higher, Stronger sees Irish Times journalist Ian O’Riordan examine how athletes are using science and technology to enhance their performance, asking whether or not we can ever again truly believe in the purity of sport.
The documentary was produced and directed by Ronan O’Donoghue with Conor Moloney (Independent Pictures) as Executive Producer. The programme aired on RTÉ One on Tuesday 17 July at 9.35pm and being involved in the production was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for a number of reasons.
Personally, I am a huge sports fan and can’t wait for the Olympics. I greatly disapprove of the use of performance enhancing drugs and it was fantastic to see an athlete interview other professionals who have fallen foul of the authorities while also championing clean and hard working current and former athletes.
On a professional note, Gorilla provided the online edit, grade, motion graphics and sound mix on the 52 min documentary and it was fantastic to see all departments working together in full post production!
Great to see director/producer Gerard Barrett honoured with the Bingham Ray New Talent Award at the Galway Film Fleadh for his film Pilgrim Hill.
“Pilgrim Hill Gerard Barrett’s masterful debut, with much original thinking, was the festival’s best.” – Donald Clarke, Irish Times
The sound mix was completed by Barry Reid at Gorilla Studio 1 with assistance and pre-mix from yours truly in Studio 2.
An engaging project with a powerful performance by Joe Mullins in the lead role.
