Great to see director/producer Gerard Barrett honoured with the Bingham Ray New Talent Award at the Galway Film Fleadh for his film Pilgrim Hill.
“Pilgrim Hill Gerard Barrett’s masterful debut, with much original thinking, was the festival’s best.” – Donald Clarke, Irish Times
The sound mix was completed by Barry Reid at Gorilla Studio 1 with assistance and pre-mix from yours truly in Studio 2.
An engaging project with a powerful performance by Joe Mullins in the lead role.
I’m delighted that Stalker by Mark O’ Connor (Director) and John Connors achieved second place in the Best Irish Feature Award category of this year’s Galway Film Fleadh.
“Stalker follows a voluble homeless person – part righteous avenger, part irredeemable psychopath – who takes a young fellow (the superb Barry Keoghan) under his wing in a heightened, nightmarish version of contemporary Dublin.” – Donald Clarke, Irish Times.
I really enjoyed creating the sound design and mix on this feature produced by TJ O’Grady-Peyton @stalkerfilms.
“O’Connor makes sure we are never too far from an excellent joke, and John Connors is first rate as the disturbed protagonist. Why does the dishevelled street prophet wear a tie? “In case I get an interview,” he explains as if to a fool.” – Donald Clarke, Irish Times.
It was a pleasure working with Mark and TJ and I’m sure we’ll all be hearing big news about Stalker Films again in the near future.
I’ve just finished working on on Bernard Dunne’s Bród Club – a 6 part series for RTÉ produced by Independent Pictures.
Translated as “Pride Club”, the series follows Bernard Dunne and his campaign to inspire 100,000 people to re-engage with the Irish language and sign-up to www.rte.ie/brodclub, the website where members can log in, interact with each other and access a broad range of related content, news and national events.
Bernard is an Irish boxing legend. The atmosphere in the O2 in Dublin on the night he knocked out Ricardo Cordoba and won his WBA World title fight is something I’ll never forget. It was a privilege to meet him in the flesh and work with him on the series.

I was involved in creating the entire soundtrack for this fun feature through foley, sound design and assisting on the 5.1 and stereo mixes. The DVD followed on from a series of webisodes for www.lalaloopsy.com that you can read about here.
MGA Entertainment are the company behind the Lalaloopsy dolls, with Lionsgate distributing the DVD. Robert Cullen of top Irish animation company Boulder Media is the director of the production.
Just finished working on a series of webisodes for MGA Entertainment’s www.lalaloopsy.com.
Gorilla collaborated with Boulder Media on this one and a lot of fun was had by all involved! You can see the webisodes here.
